Welcome to 7th grade Language Arts at Sossaman Middle School. We have an exciting, engaging, and challenging 2018-2019 school year in store for us!  I am thrilled to be part of the Spartan community and to embark on another year of learning and growing together.

Arizona has been my home for the past fourteen years.  I was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Communications and Literature and my Master’s Degree in Teaching from Pace University.  Additionally, I completed a second Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Northern Arizona University in 2008.

Outside of work, my free time is devoted to my husband and son. We enjoy sports, board games, making crafts, constructing Legos, cooking new recipes, and playing outdoors every chance we get.

The start of this school year begins my eighteenth year of teaching. I began my teaching career in Brooklyn, New York and this will be my sixteenth year instructing 7th graders. I enjoy working with middle school students and tapping into their creativity, enthusiasm, and energy. I look forward to creating a positive, enriching, and successful learning environment with all my students.

I am delighted to continue to be an active contributor to the growth and development of the ELASS class for gifted learners.  Mr. MacKenzie and I are eager to once again explore history with the integration of literature, music, and art during our block period co-taught class.

I realize that teaching your child is a privilege, as well as a tremendous responsibility. I will do my best to ensure that each student has a safe, motivating, and productive learning experience in my classroom. It is my hope that we can be partners in the learning process. I will keep you up-to-date regarding our curriculum, assignments, and assessments via Edmodo along with project sheets, e-mails, and grade updates on Synergy.

If you have additional questions and/or concerns, please feel free to contact me by e-mail at: donna.corsaro@husd.org

I look forward to a wonderful school year!

    Go Spartans!
