    Welcome to a new year!  I hope everyone had a wonderful summer.  I am extremely excited to continue my career here at Higley High School  My name is Alicia Cowles, and I will be your childs 9th grade Algebra 1 inclusion teacher, focusing in math and science.  This is my first year at HHS and my 9th year of teaching special education.  I was previously at Cortina Elementary School for four years, Sossman Middle school for 3 years also working with middle school students.  I earned my Bachelors degrees in Special Education and Elementary Education from Arizona State University.  I also earned my Master of Arts in Curriculum and Instruction in Accomplished Teaching with an emphasis on Special Education from ASU.  Go Devils!   I love traveling and escaping this heat!    I have been married to my husband, Jimmy, since 3/18/17!  We have a son named Cayden who is the light of our lives.  We also have three dogs; Cooper, Maycee and Rylie.    I am looking forward to getting to know you and your student throughout the year.
