My name is Alana Charnofsky and this is my 11th year teaching in the Higley School District. I am originally from a suburb outside Chicago. (Go Cubs Go!) I moved to Phoenix to attend Arizona State University where I earned two degrees in History and Religious Studies. After graduation, I moved back to Chicago for about a year before landing a job back in Phoenix.
I spent two years as the Program Director for a non-profit organization catering to college students. I went back to ASU to get my M.Ed. in secondary education in History. From there, I joined the Higley family. I am currently working on a second Masters degree in American History.
When I am not in the classroom, I enjoy spending time with my wonderful husband and our children, Noa, who is 5 and starting kindergarten and Zev who is just over a year old!
