Welcome to the 2018-2019 School Year
I am excited to start the year as the Assistant Principal of Cortina Elementary. This will be my 21st year in education. I graduated from Grand Canyon University with a degree in Elementary Education. In addition, I hold a Masters of Science from California State Hayward and a Masters in Leadership from Northern Arizona University. Growing up, I knew I wanted to be in the field of education, and I am fortunate to continue with a school and community that hold a special place in my heart. I had the privilege of helping to open Cortina 12 years ago. I look forward to serving Cortina Elementary and the community in this new role.
At Cortina, we believe in “achieving personal excellence, one child at a time”. As the assistant principal, I will work to support students both academically, socially, and emotionally. I believe in the potential of each student, and realize we are not just preparing them for the next grade, but for the future. This preparation will include experiences that are challenging, relevant, and meet the needs of the individual student.
I am looking forward to supporting the students, staff, and community of Cortina. I believe in open communication and a strong home to school connection. Please feel free to contact me with any celebrations or concerns you may have. It is exciting to think about all that we will achieve working together. Let’s make this year great!
