Superintendent's Office

Ms. Sherry Richards is the superintendent of Higley Unified School District. She joined HUSD in 2011 as an elementary school principal, was named executive director of elementary education in 2017, was appointed as interim superintendent in 2023, and was subsequently selected as superintendent in 2024.

Ms. Richards received her Bachelor of Science in Habilitation of the Deaf from Texas Christian University and a Master of Science in Education Administration from West Texas A&M. She completed her Superintendent Certification through Northern Arizona University.

During Ms. Richards' tenure at HUSD, she has served in various administrative capacities, focused on fostering and developing strategic initiatives that improve student and employee growth, culture, and community. Ms. Richards believes that building strong relationships is critical to any successful organization, specifically a school district. She is passionate about developing these relationships and ensuring students have every opportunity to succeed.
