If you are interested in hosting an international scholar student, please contact the agencies HUSD is currently collaborating with:

Host families for international scholar students who attend HUSD schools must live within the district boundary.
HUSD will not transport international scholar students to the high school assigned if the host family does not live within that high school’s boundary.
Requirements for Hosting International Students:
- Provide a safe, warm and nurturing environment for your International Student
- Be willing to share your family’s life with your student(s)
- Ensure student is fully immersed in an English speaking-environment.
- Assist with occasional transportation- Host families who live outside of HUSD boundaries must provide transportation to and from school.
- All household members 18+ must pass an interview and criminal background check.
- In-house visit required before placement. Most agencies will also require a monthly check-in visit.
