Kinder Prep
Higley's THINK! Highly Gifted Academy is now open. The program offers education in Kinder Prep at Sossaman Early Childhood Education Center, located at 18655 East Jacaranda Boulevard, Queen Creek, AZ 85142
Students attend school 5 days a week from 7:45 a.m. to 2:45 p.m.
Students work with like-minded children in an accelerated, discovery-based program that allows children to develop strong social and academic skills.
Students accepted into this program as preschoolers will then be eligible for kindergarten at THINK! Higley's Highly Gifted Academy, located at Bridges Elementary School.
The Day In the Life of a Gifted Preschooler
7:45 Arrival
Students arrive to several open-ended provocations which provide an invitation for students to think, discuss, question, use creativity and explore while expanding on an idea.
8:15 Morning Meeting
Direct instruction of social & emotional skills appropriate to the specific needs of students.
Morning Message: Daily review of literacy and math skills
9:00 Outdoor Learning Time and Snack
Students head outside for fine & gross motor and social education while integrating with peers.
Students participate in family style snack in classroom.
10:00 Read Aloud
Students are exposed to various genres of literature; both fiction and non-fiction.
10:15 Exploratory Centers
Students attend center(s) of their choice which includes literacy, math, dramatic play, art, blocks, sensory table, loose parts and small group with teacher for instruction specific to individual needs of student.
11:45 Lunch and Recess
Students attend lunch and recess with grade level peers.
12:15 Show and Tell
Students share items with friends and practice listening and speaking skills
1:15 Snack
Students participate in family style snack in classroom.
1:30 Read Aloud
Students are exposed to various genres of literature; both fiction and non-fiction.
1:45 Exploratory Centers
Students attend center(s) of their choice which includes literacy, math, dramatic play, art, blocks, sensory table, loose parts and small group with teacher for instruction specific to individual needs of student.
2:30 Class Meeting
Review of the day, songs and farewell
