DLI stands for Dual Language Immersion.

Dual Language Immersion is an opt-in bilingual program designed to provide literacy and academic content instruction in two languages with one of those languages being English.

Parents can choose either a Spanish/English program starting at San Tan Elementary or a Mandarin Chinese/English program offered at Coronado Elementary.

Dual Language Immersion focuses on student bilingualism AND biliteracy while maintaining high academic achievement and fostering cultural competence.

Higley Unified School District's Dual Language Immersion programs start in preschool and kindergarten and continue through 6th grade. Our middle and high school students will take language courses designed to bridge the gap to the college-level language courses.
