Curriculum Overview

HUSD communicates the expectations of state and District content standards and provides ongoing professional learning to promote best practices for teaching and learning.

Our curriculum, carefully adopted by the Governing Board, is aligned with Arizona State Standards to ensure that every student receives a quality education that meets state benchmarks. For more information on the Arizona Department of Education Academic State Standards, please visit the Arizona Department of Education Website. We are dedicated to creating a learning environment that emphasizes the importance of integrity, accountability, and meaningful connections between students, families, educators, and the community. We strongly encourage parents and guardians to participate in their school's curriculum nights, as well as parent-teacher conferences. In addition to these coordinated district events, parents and guardians who wish to learn more about or discuss the learning materials being used are encouraged to:

  • Review course materials shared through the teacher's Canvas page or course syllabus (commonly used in middle and high schools).
  • Reach out directly to the classroom or subject matter teacher(s).

At the heart of our educational approach is a commitment to nurturing well-rounded individuals who are not only academically prepared but also equipped with the critical thinking skills, ethical understanding, and social responsibility necessary for success in college, careers, and beyond. We strive to inspire a lifelong love of learning and innovation, preparing our students to be responsible citizens who contribute positively to society.
