Instructional Material Support

Resource material adoptions are proposed annually based on several factors including changes to State standards and budgetary considerations. Typically, the adoption process begins in the summer preceding the school year in which the adoption is to be completed. Final selection or development of resources culminate with a recommendation to the Governing Board prior to implementation.

A comprehensive process is exercised when selecting appropriate instructional materials for grade levels and/or courses. Teachers, specialists, administrators, and stakeholders have a significant role in defining the criteria for selection and the actual selection process itself.
