Arizona High Intensity Drug Trafficking Areas (HIDTA) was established in 1990.  Its mission is to facilitate, support, and enhance collaborative drug control efforts among law enforcement agencies and community-based organizations with a common voice and unified strategy and thereby significantly reduce the impact of illegal trafficking and use of drugs throughout Arizona. Higley hosted an informational session on May 4th with an expert from HIDTA. She presented "One Pill Can Kill." Parents learned about the newest threats to children, and were informed about the counterfeit pills laced with fentanyl along with the Good Samaritan Law. Also discussed was the lifesaving medication called Naloxone.
