Mr. Brewer began his own band experience in 5th grade playing clarinet, and participated in all-state band in 6th grade. After switching to trombone, he made the all-state band as a junior and a senior. He was awarded the Outstanding Performer and John Philip Sousa Awards in high school. He attended ASU for a year, took two years off from college for his church, and then finished his Music Education degree at BYU. While earning his Bachelors of Music degree, he participated in several ensembles.

While in the Wind Symphony, Mr. Brewer performed in Finland, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Russia, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and the Czech Republic. Since then, he has earned an MA in Education from GCU. He has performed in several musicals as well, including Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, The Secret Life of Edwin Drood, A Christmas Carol, Oklahoma!, Once Upon a Mattress, Seussical the Musical, The Addams Family, Man of La Mancha, Fiddler on the Roof and All Shook Up.

Mr. Brewer conducted three youth musicals for Gilbert Fine Arts Association - Thoroughly Modern Millie, Curtains and The Mikado. He also performed with the CGCC Community Band for many years, as well as EVMCO, and most recently with the Agape Brass quintet. 2023-2024 marks his 20th year in the Higley Unified School District as a band director and music teacher, which he enjoys thoroughly. Mr. Brewer is happiest when his students show good character and experience success with their music.
