Welcome to Kindergarten!
Hello! My name is Sarah Kirchoff.
I will be your child’s kindergarten teacher this year! I will be learning about your child and family throughout the year, so I will let you know a little bit about myself as well. I have a wonderful husband who is a band teacher and we have four fantastic kids. They are 19, 17, 16 and 13. We also have two great dogs named Kody and Tonto. They keep me on my toes!
I am originally from New York. My family moved here when I was in fifth grade and we have been here ever since. I went to school in Chandler before going to ASU. I have five older brothers and one older sister. We like to take road trips to see them whenever possible. I have 23 nieces and nephews. I love having such a large family!
I asked my kids what parents and students might want to know about me. They said, "They want to know your favorite color, where you like to eat, and what you like to do." So here goes: my favorite color is pink, my favorite places to eat are Texas Roadhouse and Chipotle, and my husband and I like to take our kids camping and hiking, and I also like to read if I get a moment.
I am really looking forward to my sixth year at Coronado. I have been teaching kindergarten for twelve years. I have also taught preschool for three years, first grade for four years and second grade for two years. Kindergarten is, by far, what I have enjoyed the most! I graduated with my bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Arizona State University. I received my master’s degree in Elementary Education from Northern Arizona University. I also hold an endorsement in Early Childhood Education. I am looking forward to becoming a partner in your child’s education this year. If you ever have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
