My name is Chloe Ogburn; I grew up in Gilbert and graduated from Williams Field High School, class of 2012. I graduated Magna Cum Laude with my BA in English Education in 2017. I then taught Honors 10th & 12th grade English for 2 years in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Moving back to my home state brought me to Higley High School in 2018. Here I have taught English 9, 11, 12, & Creative Writing. I also sponsor our school's book club. I am now in my 5th year of teaching & I love my job more every year!
I believe in promoting life-long learning, especially focusing on kids reading the books of their choice from our class library. I prioritize making kids feel seen and welcome in class, more confident in their writing skills and more prepared for college and their future careers. I am an avid reader, and especially love reading suspense thrillers. I have a fluffy shih-tzu, an aquarium full of blue shrimp, and way too many houseplants.
