Higley Unified School District maintains its Children's Internet Protect Act (CIPA) compliance by providing premise-based and off-site content filtering. Our combination of Cisco’s Umbrella service and iBoss’ content filtering appliance keeps our students safe from inappropriate material on the Internet while using District devices at school or at home. While student safety is, of course, our primary reason for this compliance, it also allows the District to benefit from participating in the Federal E-rate program, which helps reduce the district’s telecom costs.
The District utilizes Malwarebytes Anti-Malware to protect its devices against viruses, malware, and ransomware. This year, the District is also implementing email protection through Mimecast, a cloud-based email management company for Microsoft Exchange and Microsoft Office 365, which includes security, archiving, and continuity services to protect the District’s email from phishing attacks and other threats.
