My name is Mrs. Robin Wubbena, and I will be your child's teacher this year! Higley Traditional Academy is a great place for your first grader to grow as a reader, a writer, a mathematician, a little scientist and a social scientist. Our curriculum and philosophies provide a strong foundation that starts your Thinker well on his or her way to becoming a strong student. I look forward to getting to know your child and you, as we partner together in this very Fabulous First Grade year.
This will be my 21 year of teaching. I have taught 14 years in kindergarten, 6 years in first grade and 1 year in title one reading. I also taught third grade for a half of a year. I have a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education, and a Master of Education in Reading Curriculum and Instruction. I love teaching First Grade and am so excited to be back in it! It is a year of trying new things and taking risks! First graders are curious, inquisitive, charismatic, energetic and playful.
I believe that you as a parent have an equal part in your child's education. You as Parents, and me as the Teacher, are partners in this venture, and communication is key to our success.
