Students In Transition (SIT) provides services and support to two of our district’s special populations - students in foster care and students who are experiencing homelessness. Click here
to see the McKinney Vento Homeless Assistance Act definition of homeless. The purpose of SIT is to help remove educational barriers that may otherwise prevent your child from full participation in school.
The Higley Unified School District's Homeless Liaison is available to assist families and children who are living in transition. The Homeless Liaison can assist children/youth with the following:
- Hygiene Items
- School Registration
- School Transportation
- Paying School Fees
- Information on Housing
- Information on Medical/Dental Services
- Information on Alcohol/Drug Abuse
- Domestic Violence
