    Dear Chaparral Community,

I am very excited to be returning to the Chaparral family as Assistant Principal for the 2021-2022 school year.

I am a Phoenix native with a passion to serve and support the amazing students, staff, and families we have in Higley. This will be my 15th year in education. I spent eight years as a classroom teacher before becoming a Title Coordinator and Instructional Coach at Cooley Middle School. This year will be my sixth year serving Chaparral as Assistant Principal, and I am looking forward to seeing our Sharks continue to develop as leaders on campus and in the community. Beginning with the end in mind, this year we are focused on creating an engaging, safe, and enjoyable learning environment for our students to be successful.

I obtained my B.S. of Elementary Education from Northern Arizona University and my Master of Arts in Administration and Supervision from University of Phoenix. I hold a K-12 Gifted endorsement and am a certified Kagan (Cooperative Learning) Coach. I look forward to supporting teachers in developing their instructional skills while continuing to learn and hone my own.

After the difficult year we all had, I am looking forward to continuing The Leader in Me journey. The growth and changes I have seen on campus and in our students have been extraordinary. Students are developing personal leadership skills that will serve them throughout their lives.
