Emilie Buzzard is the current second grade teacher in the THINK Academy program at Bridges Elementary School. For the past 7 years she has spent her professional life dedicated to teaching and reaching the whole learner. She is concerned not only with the standards and content but also the social and emotional well being of the students. She encourages creativity, individualized instruction, and hands on learning experiences for excitement and engagement.
Mrs. Buzzard has taught in a variety of settings in Indiana. She has held the various education roles: a second grade teacher, K-2 High Ability Coordinator, third grade teacher, and 3-5 Literacy Coach. She has a dual degree from Huntington University in Elementary Education and Special Education and is currently working on her endorsements for Gifted Education and English as a Second Language.
Mrs. Buzzard is the "dog mom" to her two fur babies Benson and Wicket who keep her mornings before school filled with play and walks. She enjoys reading, spending time with family, swimming, and the warm weather when she is not in the classroom.
