Dean of Students: Mr. Brent Brandenburg
Hello Cooley Cougars!I am excited to be a part of the Cooley Middle School family serving as the Dean of Students for the 2021-2022 school year. I look forward to partnering with the parents, families, and staff on campus to make this a memorable year.My name is Brent Brandenburg, and I am originally from Bay City Michigan. I grew up spending most of my time involved in sports or enjoying the outdoors. I received my Bachelor’s in Secondary Education from Saginaw Valley State University with a major in History and minor in Social Studies. In 2008, I moved away from the cold winters to enjoy the warmth and sunshine that Arizona has to offer while teaching in the Higley Unified School District. In Higley, I have taught 7th & 8th grade Social Studies and coached many sports teams throughout the years. In 2016, I completed my Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Northern Arizona University. This school year will be my 14th year in education and first in an administrative role. One of my goals this year is to build strong relationships with all of the stakeholders in the Cooley Middle School community. I have a firm belief that all situations in life lead to lessons to grow and learn from in a positive way. I hope to help students grow, reflect, and make positive academic and behavioral choices to set them up for success at Cooley and beyond. I look forward to this school year as we work together to help foster compassionate and innovative thinkers on the Cooley campus. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns by phone at (480)279-8319 or by email at Brent.Brandenburg@husd.org.– “There may be people that have more talent than you, but there’s no excuse for anyone to work harder than you do.” – Derek Jeter
