I am so excited to be back at school for a fabulous year. This is my 4th year as a Special Education teacher at Higley Traditional Academy. I have learned that every year brings its own adventures and challenges. This year I will be working with 4th and 5th graders. I am thrilled to implement new ideas for reading comprehension, writing, and math. I like to use a variety of approaches as I strive to find the right program or curriculum that works best for each student.
I am a graduated with a bachelors degree from Brigham Young University in Provo. I worked for a youth non-profit organization for 13 years prior to becoming involved in education. I completed a post-baccalaureate in Special Education at Rio Salado College.
On a personal note, I am a little sad this year since my daughter Kaylana promoted to Middle School. I will miss seeing her at HTA, however, she could not be more excited about moving on without me so I am happy for her. I like traveling, reading, kayaking, and paddle boarding.
