Mr Abbruscato teaches Digital Photography 1 & 2, Graphic Design 1, Dual Enrollment College Writing 12, Eng 11. He strives to support students both academically and creatively, providing them with the tools needed to succeed throughout life. Receiving his MA in English from ASU, Mr Abbruscato has myriad research interests, and his academic publications specialize in the study of how fairy tales and mythologies intersect with comic books, Young Adult Literature, pop culture, and science fiction.
Outside of work, MrAbbruscato published "The Gothic Fairy Tale in Young Adult Literature" through the academic publisher McFarland Press. He has been a professional photographer for the over a decade, specializing in concerts/live events and modeling. He has had photographs published by MTV Canada, Skype, Live Nation, Arizona Republic, The Phoenix New Times, and Doom! Magazine, has been part of multiple gallery shows, and published multiple successful books of photography.
Coaching: Mr Abbruscato is the Junior Varsity Spiritline Coach. He has been coaching the team for 5 years, helping grow the program and instilling the importance of being student athletes in all of his teams. He himself was a collegiate athlete, competing for Arizona State University’s Men’s Gymnastics Team. He has coached gymnastics both in NY and in Arizona, and brings almost two decades of professional competitive athletics experience and dedication to his squad.
