Kindergarten Round-Up 2018
All elementary schools will host Kindergarten Round-Up 6 p.m. Feb. 22, 2018. This is a time when families can learn about the kindergarten programs and turn in enrollment forms.
Please be sure to bring the following documents when registering your child, along with your completed registration packet:
• Child’s Birth Certificate
• Child’s Immunization Record
• Proof of Residency (contract on your house, rental or lease agreement, electric bill, etc.)
• Driver’s License
Who qualifies for kindergarten in 2018-2019
If your child will be 5 years of age by August 31, 2018, he or she qualifies for the 2018-2019 school year.
If your child will be 5 years of age between September 1, 2018 and December 31, 2018, you may consider having your child tested to see if he/she will qualify for early entrance kindergarten.

THINK! Gifted Academy Information Nights
Higley’s THINK! Gifted Academy provides personalized instruction to actively engage exceptional learners in an innovative thinking environment. This gifted program is currently offered in preschool and will expand to kindergarten in the 2018/2019 school year, with plans to create a Pre-K- 12 pathway.

Bridges named AZ STEM School of Community PracticeHigley Unified School District’s newest elementary school has been named an AZ STEM School Community of Practice.
Bridges Elementary School joins 56 schools from across the state to collaborate with Maricopa Education Service Agency, Arizona SciTech, Intel and the Arizona Science Center.
“This is an amazing opportunity for our school community to learn from other innovative schools within the state. Many collaborative opportunities are planned throughout this next school year that will certainly put us on the road to excellence in terms of STEM,” Bridges Principal Sherry Richards said.STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering and Math.
