Authorities said that a 10-year-old walking Tuesday at 4 p.m. in the 18500 block of Ryan Road, an area near Queen Creek and Power roads, was confronted by an armed man who tried to force her into a vehicle. Sheriff’s officials said the man exposed himself but then released her unharmed.
The man is described as having a dark complexion, black hair, wearing brown jeans and a black hat. He was seen driving a gray or brown four-door vehicle.
If anyone has any information about the man, they should contact the Sheriff’s Office at (602) 876.1087 and speak with Detective MeGehee or Sgt. Lugo.
Although this incident did not occur at a school in the Higley district, we ask everyone to be on heightened alert. Please take precautions such as walking in groups. Children should inform an adult such as a parent or school employee right away when they spot strange and suspicious activity. We appreciate your vigilance in this matter.
