  • Community Education Department to relocate

    Community Education will be relocating to the Higley Unified School District Office on Oct. 5. The new location is 2935 South Recker Road, Gilbert, AZ, 85295. Hours: 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

    Parents who wish to make a payment for Kids Club’s before- or after-school care or camps, Higley Youth Sports League or preschool may do so online. The Community Education office staff can also take payments in-person for Kids Club and preschool. Information can be found on the Community Education website.

    Families that wish to register in preschool should still visit one of our two preschool sites at Cooley or Sossaman Middle School.

  • HYSL soccer, cheer registration opens
    Sign up today for the second quarter of Higley Youth Sports League – soccer and cheer. The soccer program is open to students in fifth and sixth grade. The cheer program takes place over two quarters and is open to all ages at Higley's elementary schools.

    Practices will be held after school at students' home campuses. Soccer will play weekly games. Cheer will spend the first quarter practicing and learning routines and will cheer at basketball games in the second quarter. The cheer program includes a districtwide competition at the end of the season.

    All registration must be completed online. The season will start after fall break. Cost: $50 for soccer; $125 for cheer. Uniforms are loaned to students.
    The Higley Youth Sports League is designed to create an atmosphere of support and shared responsibility so that each and every student athlete will benefit by creating a tremendous mental scrapbook of memories from sports participation.

  • Support Chaparral and receive up to $400 AZ Tax Credit
    The state of Arizona allows you to receive a tax credit of up to $200 ($400 if married and filing jointly) when you make an ECA tax credit donation to our school. We will use your tax dollar donation to help fund extra curricular activities and opportunities for our students to extend their learning beyond the regular school day and you will get a dollar-for-dollar credit towards your tax return. Before and after school tutoring, school clubs and field trip experiences are just a few of the enrichment programs that are made possible when ECA funds are donated to our school.  Please name Chaparral Elementary School as the recipient of your donation so that we may provide quality enrichment programs like these for our learners. We appreciate your support and are dedicated to spending your tax dollars responsibly.

  • Lunch Money Update
    School offices will now have a secure “lunch money” drop box at their front offices. Parents and students who need to add money to their accounts can place the funds in envelopes at each school’s front desk and place that into the secured box.

    Parent can still stop by the cafeteria during and after meal times when needed to talk with cafeteria managers.

Chaparral Elementary School is a community school in Higley Unified School District and serving neighborhood kindergarten through sixth grade students. Our learning environment provides each and every child the opportunity to learn and grow in a safe environment and develop a life-long quest for learning and knowledge.
