Higley Youth Sports League flag football, volleyball registration open
Students in fifth and sixth grade at Higley’s elementary schools can now register for the first quarter – flag football and volleyball. Practices will be held after school at students’ home campuses, with weekly games. All registration must be completed online. The season will end before fall break.
The Higley Youth Sports League is designed to create an atmosphere of support and shared responsibility so that each and every student athlete will benefit by creating a tremendous mental scrapbook of memories from sports participation.
Higley schools to send home AzMerit Reports
Last spring, Higley Unified students took the AzMERIT statewide assessment in English language arts and math. Schools will soon send test results home with students. Families will receive a comprehensive score report with detailed information. Additional information about the AzMerit test is on the district website.
Family Fundraising from our PTO!
We hope that you will help us reach our goal of $22,000 by August 31st!
We have elected to go in a different direction with fundraising for the 2016-17 school year. Based on feedback we have received, the traditional model of having numerous large school-wide fundraisers will not continue, including our Fun Run fundraiser, which only gave a small percentage back to our campus.
This year 100% of donations will come DIRECTLY to our school classrooms and campus to purchase such items as classrooms manipulatives, literacy sets, computer software, projectors, classroom speakers, classroom supplies and professional development opportunities for our teachers!
If each family donates $50.00 we will meet our goal! Any amount will be accepted and greatly appreciated, whether you can give less or even more than the $50.00 per family goal.
Our PTO is a 501c non-profit organization, which means your donation is tax credit deductible. A receipt will be provided.
Please check with your employers, as many of them will match your donation!
We will still be holding our community events such as the annual Fall Carnival and a family restaurant night once a quarter!
