Cathy Strickland, Dance and PE teacher at Higley Elementary and Middle school, is recognizing the following students for supporting Higley as they met at the Gilbert Civic Center for the town council meeting to receive a Proclamation from the mayor: Alanni, Vanessa M., Raquel, Kambrie, Carolina, Emma, and Nilaja

Cathy is actively involved in the Gilbert Safe Routes to School program and the students are part of her committee in helping support walking/biking to school and living a healthy lifestyle. April is Bike to School month and activities HEMS students participated in included biking to school for a chance to win prizes, a drawing contest for K-2nd graders, and a design contest for 3rd-8th graders for chances to win a bike, a bike helmet and more! If you see these students on campus make sure to give them a shout out as we were the only Higley or Gilbert school to attend and receive their plaque, which is now proudly displayed in the front office! GO HAWKS!!!!!
