Dr. Mike Thomason began as superintendent of the Higley Unified School District on July 1, 2015. He holds a doctorate degree in educational leadership and policy from ASU and formerly served as the district’s assistant superintendent of operations, assistant superintendent of student services and director of special education.
Dr. Thomason brings more than 20 years of education and leadership to the helm. In addition to his doctorate, he holds Bachelor of Science Degrees in special education and elementary education from Arizona State University and a Master of Arts degree in guidance counseling from Ottawa University.
Higley Unified School District serves about 12,000 students enrolled in its 12 schools and two preschools.
