  • Montessori program explored for Sossaman Early Childhood Development Center

    Higley Unified School District is looking to add a Montessori classroom to the Sossaman campus beginning with the 2015/16 school year. The program will follow a student-led discovery model designed for ages 3-5. Parents interested in this option can call (480) 279.8600 by May 1 to sign up for the interest list. If you have already completed a registration packet for next school year and would like to be added to the Montessori interest list, please inform the school where you submitted your  registration packet. All registrations will be first-come, first-serve. Parents will be informed in July as to whether or not the program has enough enrollment to move forward.

    Summer Programs 2015  
     
    We are excited to announce a few of the summer options available to students! Register TODAY!

    CAMP FUSE: Summer Kids Club will be held 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, June 1 until July 17. This year, camp will be located on the Gateway Point Elementary School campus, 2069 S. De La Torre Drive. Camp is open to ages preschool (potty trained) through sixth grade. Field trips, swimming and more. Students can attend one day or all summer! Advance registration required. Cost: $40 daily, plus registration fee. Snacks will be included, but children must bring their own breakfast and/or lunch.
     
    Camp Fuse Parent Survival Guide

    SUMMER ADVENTURE: Community Education’s Enrichment Summer Program will be held Mondays through Thursdays, June 1 through June 25, at Gateway Point Elementary School campus, 2069 S. De La Torre Drive. Options will be available 8 a.m. to noon. Choose from science, art, math, language arts, sports and more!
     

    SUMMER ENRICHMENT: Looking for more extreme fun? Try out sports camps for girls and boys, robotics, Legos, drama and music camp at HCPA. Students may also enroll in music camps, weight training and more. All classes are individually priced according to activity.

  • KINDERGARTEN BOOT CAMP: Is your child entering kindergarten next year? HUSD Summer Adventure includes an academic-based enrichment program - Kindergarten Boot Camp. It will be held 9 a.m. to noon, Mondays through Thursdays, June 1-25. Cost: $295. Parents can add morning or after-school extended care at a reduced rate. Register with Community Education, located in our Cooley or Sossaman Early Childhood Development Centers. Deadline: May 22.

  • 2015/16 Full Day Preschool Start and End Times Change

    In order to ease traffic congestion at our two Early Childhood Development Centers, the start and end times for full-day classes have been changed for the 2015/16 school year. Beginning July 27, the first day of the new school year, full-day classes will begin at 7:45 a.m., with classes ending at 2:45 p.m. The half-day students will remain on their current schedule. Thank you for your patience as we make this adjustment.

  • Preschool information and registration for 2015/16 school year
     
    Higley Unified School District is offers quality early learning programs at two state-of-the-art Early Childhood Development Centers on the campuses of Cooley and Sossaman Middle Schools.
     
    New family information/registration nights for the 2015/16 school year will be held soon. Dates and times below:

    6 to 7 p.m. May 13, Sue Sossaman Early Childhood Development Center, 18655E. Jacaranda Blvd., Queen Creek

    6 to 7 p.m. May 14, Elona P. Cooley Early Childhood Development Center, 1100 S. Recker Road, Gilbert

    During that time, new families may complete application forms for the next school year, which begins July 27, 2015.

  • Kids Club breakfast changes
     
    For the 2015/16 school year, Kids Club will no longer be serving a complimentary breakfast. Students will have the option to purchase a breakfast each day or bring their own from home. Each breakfast will cost $1.85. Parents may also complete a free and reduced meal form that will be available online at mymealtime.com or husd.org beginning July 7th, 2015

  • Kids Club registration is Ongoing for the 2014/15 school year and Now Open for the 2015/16 school year.

    HUSD Community Education's Kids Club provides children ages 3-12 quality before- and after-school care that is designed to highlight creative expression, and promote physical and social development. Kids Club sites are located on all our elementary and preschool campuses.

    Kids Club is open Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. until the start of the school day. The afternoon session begins at time of dismissal until 6  p.m. Care is also available at our elementary schools on early release days.
     
    To register, print out and complete the registration packet below and bring it to the Community Education Department located in our Cooley or Sossaman Early Childhood Development Centers.

    AM: 6:00 a.m. - 8:10 a.m.
    PM: 3:05 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.

Parents may also complete a free- and reduced meal form that will be available online at mymealtime.com or husd.org beginning July 7.

    Community Education offices are located within the Cooley Early Childhood Development Center, 1100 S. Recker Road, on the west side of the campus.

    Registration and payments are also taken at the Sossaman Early Childhood Development Center, 18655 E. Jacaranda Blvd., Queen Creek.
     
    Office Hours: 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. Monday - Friday.
