  • Community Education/Preschool Invoices and Payments Due

All families recently enrolled in any Community Education or Preschool class received on June 20 a balance due statement that read a “$0” balance. This statement was sent to all users in error.

If your child/ren is, in fact, enrolled in preschool for 2016/17, and you have not prepaid your tuition, the July/August tuition is due July 5.

    The rates are below:

    Tuesday/Thursday Classes

    Full Day: $230 per month

    Half Day: $125 per month

    Monday/Wednesday/Friday Classes

    Full Day: $345 per month

    Half Day: $165 per month

    Monday-Friday Classes

    Full Day: $575 per month

    Half Day: $300 per month

In order for your child to stay registered with Cooley or Sossaman preschools, you must make your first payment by July 5. Families may make a payment online now, which will be reflected as a credit.

The second tuition payment is due Sept. 1.  The July 20 invoice will show payment history and that no tuition is due in August. The August 20 statement will include the reminder for the Sept. 1 payment.

All invoices are e-mailed on the 20th of each month. Thank you for your patience as we work through this system.

  • District to offer Mandarin Immersion preschool
The Higley Unified School District will offer a Mandarin Immersion preschool class for the 2016-17 school year at Cooley Early Childhood Development Center, 1100 S. Recker Road, Gilbert. The program would be open to Kinder Prep/preschool students who would be enrolling in kindergarten the following school year (2017-18). Like the Mandarin Immersion program at Coronado Elementary School, the class  would be co-taught by two teachers, including one who is a native Mandarin speaker and one who teaches in English.
Studies have found that students who begin learning a second language at a younger age develop stronger language skills, as well as have an easier time in language acquisition of both English and the second language.
If you are interested in learning more about this program, please complete the interest form.
