Driver Education Program
A Great New Team!

The Higley Unified School District Community Education department and All STAR Driver Education have teamed up to offer quality driver education instruction open to all members of our community!

Driver Education classes held conveniently on the 3rd Monday and Tuesday of the month from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. alternating monthly between your choice of Higley High School or Williams Field High School.
*The driver education program offered by HUSD Community Education is no longer eligible for high school credit.

The fee for in-class instruction only is $65.00. The classes consist of a total of 4 hours classroom time.

*An optional six (6) hours of behind the wheel driving instruction is also available at additional cost.

Certificates provided on successful completion of the in-class and/or behind the wheel instruction. Certificates can be presented at the MVD for a drivers permit for students at least 15 years, 7 months of age.

*Some insurance companies offer up to a 20% savings for participants in the All STAR Driver Education program!

Young Explorers
Sign up now for the Fall/Winter Young Explorers classes

Young Explorers is a before and after school focus of the adults, children and families of our community. A wide variety of classes are offered to reinforce and expand academic content, enhance personal mastery, promote physical wellness, and strengthen family and community relationships. A variety of educational and enrichment alternatives are offered for students. Courses include chess, cooking, piano keyboarding, art, dance, cheer, karate and more.

Young Explorers is an academic support, enrichment, and retention prevention initiative that offers classes to students in elementary, middle, and high school. Certified teachers guide in curriculum based coursework to promote achievement of Arizona State Standards. Enrichment courses are taught by qualified vendors with proven effective activities and teaching techniques.

Kids of the Arts
Community Education/ Copperstar Repertory Performing Arts Program

Community Education is continuing its very successful partnership with Copperstar Repertory and the Higley Performing Arts Center by offering two upcoming programs.

Annie JR Audition Workshop This class is designed to offer participants the chance to learn and enhance audition skills through this innovative class. You will get the chance to work directly with professional stage show directors and choreographers, and learn music from the show, Annie Jr.

The class fee is $35.00 for two afternoons of professional, individualized instruction.

Auditions for the upcoming production of ANNIE, JR. will be discussed at the workshop.

Kid's Club
We are proud to offer a highly affordable program where children feel safe, nurtured and challenged. Kids Club provides school-age children before and after school care that is designed to support the Higley curriculum, highlight creative expression, and promote physical and social development.

Kids Club is licensed by the Arizona Department of Health Services and our staff is dedicated and qualified. A variety of activities are offered including organized indoor and outdoor games, developmental centers, board games and puzzles, arts and crafts, and homework time. A morning and afternoon snack is provided for both the before and after school sessions.

Sign up now for the Fall/Winter Recreation classes

HUSD Recreation offers students and adults the opportunity to experience the camaraderie of teamwork, to enjoy the spirit of competition, to develop skills, and to increase personal wellness through physical activity and sports. Sports include youth basketball, soccer, volleyball, flag football, track, and baseball. Our enrollment rates for our kids sports are now $50.00 per session. Adult sports include co-ed volleyball, softball, and basketball.
