I am very excited to be back this year at Gateway Pointe as your school’s Social Worker. I have a degree in Political Science with a minor in Social Work from Rider College and a Master’s in Education in Counseling from St. John’s University. My experience has ranged working in residential treatment centers, treatment foster care programs to schools. For the last 3 years I have had the privilege to assist and support our Gator Community.
I have 2 girls who attend school in the Higley Unified School District. Mackenzie (age 14) is my dancer in 9th grade at Higley High School. Katelyn (age 12) is my midfield soccer player in 7th grade at Sossaman Middle School. I have enjoyed being a dance mom and soccer coach, while also enjoying hikes in the Arizona Mountains as well as the sunsets.
As the school social worker, I will be working closely with administrators, teachers and parents to identify student who could benefit from my social skills groups. These weekly groups are designed to provide your students with valuable coping, interpersonal and behavior management skills. I will be involved in supporting teachers with classroom lessons on topics such as classroom behavior, social skills and bully awareness to encourage a positive learning environment. I am also available to assist parents, guardians and families in navigating available community resources.
My goal is to bring about positive behavioral and emotional changes in our students which can help them perform well in school and at home. Thank you for the opportunity to work with your children. If you have questions or concerns, feel free to contact me.
Our Vision: Gateway Pointe aspires to be the anchor of our community, empowering individuals to become innovative learners and participants in a global society.
